Flame
spray coatings provide the best overall protection against rust
and corrosion, especially under exposure to salt water environments.
The process
deposits finely divided, molten particles to a substrate. A wire
is fed through a thermal spray gun at a controlled rate which heats
the material to the molten state and air atomizes the particles
creating a spray. Look at it as a form of spray-on galvanizing.
ASCO
is DOD 2138 SH qualified for flame spray aluminum.
We apply aluminum,
zinc, and zinc/aluminum coatings to wrought iron, steel structures,
car fenders, window channels, areas that seem to corode, tank bottoms,
boat and ship components. We have found that flame spraying works
especially well as a base for powder coated parts such as railings
and lawn furniture. |
